Since opening in 2011, The Living Café has been at the forefront of raw and plant-based cuisine. We had a simple founding vision which we still live by today. We do not serve dairy, red meat, refined sugars, preservatives, artificial additives or colourings in any of our meals. We offer a small amount of white meat and fish. We source high quality, organic produce where possible and combine the freshest ingredients to bring you delicious and healthy meals that we like to call food for the soul.

You need to know:

✓ Celiac Friendly – Establishment is not dedicated gluten-free but the kitchen follows careful food prep practices to eliminate the risk of cross contamination
✓ Separate prep area
✓ GF pasta cooked in separate water

The Living Cafe can also accommodate:

✓ Dairy Free, ✓ Egg Free, ✓ Nut Free, ✓ Paleo, ✓ Vegetarian, ✓ Vegan, ✓ Halal

Recommendations:

Much of our menu is naturally gluten free as we have many raw and plant-based dishes.
Our rice bowls are a particular favourite with the GF community.
Our burgers and pizza come with a GF option.
All of our desserts are GF and we are well known for our sensational raw desserts such as our blueberry cheesecake, key lime pie, chocolate ganache tart and we even a raw carrot cake!
We make our own house ferments such as sauerkraut and kimchi and recently added a chicken bone broth for good gut health.

How The Living Cafe does gluten-free...

Once we are made aware that a customer is celiac, their meal will be prepared in a separate area to avoid cross contamination. When cooking items in the oven we place items such as burgers on the top shelf if there are other gluten containing products being cooked at the same time. If you are celiac or gluten intolerant please speak to the restaurant manager who will be happy to accommodate your requests and liaise with the kitchen.
